BIO
Tatiana Sarasa started her path as a visual artist at the University of Barcelona, graduating in Fine Arts and completing her artists training though workshops with the artists Joan Hernández Pijoan and Antoni Llena as well as residencies at the Leeds Polythechinc in the UK or other technical workshops. Throughout the years she has also specialized in natural fibres, it’s processes and techniques and in botanical colors and natural pigments, expanding her knowledge learning from master dyers or weavers in Japan.
Over the years she has transformed her art studio into an open space, where she shares her values about the use of natural fibres and colors, the healing power of making, mending and working hand in hand with nature.
Her multidisciplinary work explores the space of creation and existence, the balance and vulnerability of beings and of the earth from a poetic and feminine vision. Concepts as transformation, fragility, the beauty of the ephemeral, the interdependent character of natural elements and equilibrium between opposites, the space we inhabit and our basic necessities are present in her works. She incorporates in her art installations and works artisanal techniques to uphold craftsmanship, the wisdom of the hands and heritage. Furthermore she uses natural fibres, natural colors and pigments in defense of nature and as reflection of our belonging to a greater cosmic order and balance.
